One of the best things about the internet is people are able to share things with one another. This obviously comes in handy, but especially when we are looking at something we aren't quite sure how to even Google.
There will always be someone out there who knows what the weird thing you saw was. And thank goodness, because now I know I need a gossip mirror.

Which is good because it was an accessory of sorts. It was a clip used by women in the 1950s to keep their gloves on their purse while they weren't wearing them.

Seeing this out of my window while I was driving would make me do a double-take, but believe your eyes. This house is being propped up and moved to another spot on the property.
That Isn't Spooky At All
When a couple moved into their house, they did some renovations and found an old well opening. They liked it and wanted to make it a feature in their house. The water comes from a stream that's just a couple of blocks away.

These are the seed pods left by snapdragon flowers. When they're alive, they come in a bunch of beautiful colors like yellows and pinks, but when they die they leave behind a spooky shell.

This photo was taken at Île de Ré. It's what is called a cross swell. This is what happens when two wave systems traveling at oblique angles meet. It creates a grid pattern of waves that are like currents and they make for dangerous sailing.

This is a pickle under ultraviolet light. I didn't know this was a thing I wanted to see until now. Who knew that pickles could be so pretty and vibrant? All this time I thought they were just salty and crisp.
The Sword In The Stone
This picture was taken in Cheddar Gorge, which is in Somerset, England. The sword was put there to honor the old myths about King Arthur and pulling his sword from the stone.

This huge collection of snail shells are probably the leftovers of some bird or mammal having a feast! Whoever that creature is, they're probably pretty fat now, let's be honest.

But it isn't! Even though that water looks impossibly blue, this photo was taken in a real place and not edited. It's the Lake of Ywangan. Locals believe that it's so blue because of a precious jewel that is hidden at the bottom of the lake.

It's actually a device that is used to locate certain sounds or vibrations. It's used by mechanics when they aren't quite sure where they need to be looking to fix a car.

This looks exactly like a marble, and it might be one, but it is also what is inside a spray paint can. You don't have to wonder anymore what makes that rattling sound.

Imagine taking a hike through the woods and seeing a Christmas tree all lit up? Apparently it's a tradition in a lot of places to go decorate a tree in the woods instead of bringing one home.

It's used as a marker for Bubbl cars. It's a service started by Dallas police officers who are either off duty or retired. They wanted to offer people the peace of mind they need when getting a ride from a stranger. The blue bubble is a nod to old fashion police cars.

Even though this seems very sinister, it's actually a huge greenhouse in Amsterdam. It's used for growing vegetables and the low clouds and fog makes it look particularly spooky at night.

A person found this giant fossil while walking along Myrtle Beach. It's not just any fossil, it's part of a megalodon shark tooth! If that's only part of the tooth, we can only imagine how big those sharks used to be.

It's an old invention created using small mirrors. It was used to see what was going on on the street outside without having to leave your couch. It is also known as a gossip mirror.

Sort of! It's a Vietnamese ceramic water pipe. It may look like a pot, but it's used for smoking tobacco and opium once upon a time. That one is a little frowned upon these days.
Looks Like It's Missing A Key
This is an old night watchman's key station. A security guard would have a clockwork mechanism that he would walk around with. There would be a variety of these stations around a building, and whenever the watchman came to one, they would insert a key that was in the station into the machine to prove he was at that spot.

These are what are known as grape stem cutters. They are what people who worked on vineyards would use to prune grapes until more sophisticated tools came along to make the process easier.

People used to keep their matches in these and when they need one to light their cigar or cigarette, they would pull one out and use the striking surface the clown is holding.

Well, this isn't a prison soap bar, but it does get wet. They call this a "track pebble," used for tracking longshore drift. To find them, you wait until a later date, go down the coast, and use a metal detector.
