Dave Thomas founded Wendy’s and became successful after dropping out of high school at age 16. He opened the restaurant in 1969 when he was 37 years old, after spending some time in the fast food industry.

He though ending his schooling early was the worst decision of his life, so he finished his GED in 1993. He didn’t want kids to use him as an excuse to make the same mistake he did.
