Before establishing Kentucky Fried Chicken, Colonel Sanders had a job at a gas station attendant. At one point, he got into a gunfight with a rival gas station manager.

The other attendant, who worked at Shell, painted over Sanders’ sign, and Sanders threatened to “blow his goddamn head off.” A fight broke out. People died. Then Sanders made some fried chicken.
