Indian Soldiers Claim They Found Evidence Of A Yeti
Largely regarded as a myth, the Yeti is a product of Nepali folklore that supposedly lives in the Himalayan Mountains. But some members of the Indian Army claim that they discovered Yeti footprints measuring 32 x 15 inches, near their camp on Mount Makalu.
The soldiers tweeted: "For the first time, an #IndianArmy Mountaineering Expedition Team has sited Mysterious Footprints of mythical beast 'Yeti,'" and provided pictures of their discovery.
Mount Makalu, the mountain that the footprints have found has been surveyed by researchers looking for the Yeti. It is one of the tallest mountains in the world and is surrounded by remote wilderness.
Daniel C. Taylor, a published Yeti researcher, was quick to point out that the footprints found by the soldiers most likely belonged to a bear. He went on to comment, "If that is the footprint of an animal or a single animal, it's the size of a dinosaur," and that they needed more details about the measurements.
The legend of the Yeti has been circulating around the climbing community in Nepal since the 1920s. Yet, some people are convinced that it's real and have set off on real expeditions to find it. However, even with high-powered cameras, telescopes, and satellites, no images have ever been captured of the supposed creature.
