It's a nightmare scenario that no parent would ever wish on their worst enemy. When a child disappears, it seems like the world stops. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of children are still missing. In fact, the FBI claimed that there were 464,324 missing children reports in 2017 alone.

Thankfully, most of them are found. But, there are still cases of missing children that will make your heart bleed in agony for the families and the child. Some of the stories are so odd and bizarre that the deeper you go, the more mysterious it becomes.

This is just truly bizarre. After 15-year-old Danielle Cramer went missing for a full year, police had no leads.

After some helpful tip-offs, police found the girl in the neighbor's cupboard underneath the stairs. Her parents were friends with her captor. He had been using her and other girls to make pornographic videos and posting them on the internet.

Madeleine McCann

While on vacation in Portugal, three-year-old Madeleine McCann disappeared from her hotel room. It happened after her parents left to go out to eat.

This is an incredible story. Kach was abducted at the age of fourteen by her high school security guard Thomas Hose.

She was kept as a sex slave for ten years. For the first four years of captivity, she didn't see the light of day. Hose's son and parents were living in the house but were unaware of her presence. She was able to tell a shopkeeper about her situation and was rescued shortly after.

Kinslow was dropped off at her middle school in 2001 and was never seen again. She didn't even make it to class. She was dating an 18-year-old at the time, who was arrested a week after she disappeared for assaulting a minor.

Her friends claim she ran away, but they've failed multiple lie detector tests. She has yet to be seen to this day.

After being abducted by his own dad, Jean was kept behind a fake wall space inside some insulation and wooden beams for almost four years.

In 1977, Japanese teenager Megumi Yokota was one of several people to get kidnapped by North Korean agents.

She had reportedly learned the Korean language and even got married. NK authorities say she had a kid, but say that she killed herself in 1994. Her family doesn't believe it and her status is still unknown.

After going missing without a trace in 2006, the fingers immediately were immediately pointed at Duckett's father. But, some investigation showed that the husband was actually being framed by Trenton's mother, Melinda.

This one is insanely creepy. Timmothy's mother, Amy, picked up her five-year-old son and drove him to the Brookfield Zoo in Wisconsin.

After, both of them were reported missing. Authorities found that Amy had committed suicide in a hotel room. She left a note saying that Timmothy is in the hands of people that care for him but that he'll never be found. He still hasn't been.

This is one of the weirdest mysteries of all time. The Sodder's house caught fire in 1945 on Christmas Eve. George, his wife, and four of their children escaped the fire but the other five did not.

This is a sad story with some awful parenting involved. Five-year-old Alfred was camping with his family when he suddenly went missing.

After eagerly wanting to go to Butlin's Wonderwest theme park, disaster struck for Stephen McKerron. He mysteriously disappeared and multiple witnesses said they saw a distraught boy leaving the theme park with a man.

One of the largest searches in Scotland's history took place afterward. His body was found in a marsh about six miles from the park. Authorities called off the investigation saying there was no foul play.
