Mother Nature can be as beautiful as it is terrifying. Spiders aren't very fun for most people, snakes are scary, and other things that grow in random parts of the world tend to look creepy.
That's not even including sea life, which might be the most frightening of them all. Take a look at these photos that will make you never mock nature again.
A Giant Bat
Why would she want to hold that bat like that? That thing is as long as her when fully extended, and it could probably take her down.
Sure, they like to hang upside down, but that doesn't mean they want humans to help them do it.
Seed Pods That Grow Like Skulls, Great!
Why would nature want something like these growing on Earth? It's like something from an evil land you might see in a film.
At least one villain had to have these growing in their backyard or front lawn. They make the ambiance scarier.
This Is A Hard NOPE
A spider that can hide in plain sight like this is not a friend of mine. This thing could fake its death or flatten out to avoid bigger predators.
It's a secret weapon that I'm sure glad other spiders haven't learned how to do. Thank goodness this isn't a universal arachnid trait.
Burn It Down
If you want to talk about something gross, pull this image up. Those worms range from large to tiny, but they're all over the place.
That thing needs to get burned as soon as possible. Looking at this might give you the creeps, but you'll be okay.
A Wolf That's An Eel
What you see in this photo isn't an eel, but a wolf in an eel's body. That eel has no business looking that crazy.
Also, that man probably shouldn't be holding that thing so close to his face. He's the expert, so maybe it's safe.
How A Snake Fishes
Here's something else fish need to worry about — snakes that fish on branches. This thing looks like a master at this!
Since snakes are so fast, one snap at the water, and it should catch whatever it had its sights on.
You Step On This While You're At The Beach, What Are You Doing Next?
If you were to step on this, it might be the last time you see that foot of yours. Look at how crazy this thing's teeth look.
One bite from this, and you're toast! It might even try to wrap around your lower body to help finish the job.
Did They Want Their Honey Back?
Bees are probably the least of your worries unless they come in groups like this. For some reason, they like to take over random cars.
Thankfully, an off-duty firefighter, who is also a beekeeper in his spare time, relocated the bees to a safer place.
This Frog Was Hungry
If a frog is out here eating spiders, maybe Australians should let frogs run wild in their homes at night. That looks like a giant spider.
Small spiders aren't that much of a hassle, but one that big could be some trouble. How much protein did the frog get from that meal?
You Have To Move
If they renovated their floors and this is what came out, they need to move somewhere else. There's no reason a spider that big should be in your home.
Even if you left your window open all night for two weeks straight and laid out "spider food," that thing should never be in your place of residence.
Alien Fungi?
This pretty much does look like a Venus flytrap hatching from an alien egg. It's crazy that this is a fungus and not a real plant.
This isn't something you should want to get near because you don't know what could happen. It might spew venom at you.
A Bird Tornado
If you saw this on your way home from work, you might have a panic attack. Why would birds want to form in the shape of a tornado?
A director could for sure remake this into a scary scene in a series or movie. It could be the sign that something more evil is approaching.
Leave That Snake Alone
This is an Emerald Tree Boa, and it looks suspiciously dangerous. Those teeth could probably open those tough plastic cases that encase some electronic products.
The fact that someone held this snake by the head like this makes you wonder what people won't do. That thing looks wild!
That's A Sawfish
Swimming in places that have things like this in the water needs to be illegal. Even if you're on a boat, you shouldn't be allowed near anything that can slice you in half by turning its head.
That saw is longer than Pinocchio's nose, and it doesn't have a conscience. You're as good as gone if you get in the way of that.
Australia Is Off-Limits
They found this in Broome, Western Australia. What deadly thing hasn't shown its face in Australia? Do you want to know what's so wild about this?
It's called a Dofleinia armata, or the armed anemone. It can cause pain that takes months to subside. That's insane.
The Killmonger Of Bugs
This is the last bug the other bugs want to see coming down the branch and onto their leaf. It's here to take over colonies and show everyone who's boss.
Using the bodies as armor is a genius move that other insects should consider (if they knew how).

Nothing like this should wash up on the shore of a beach. Something this massive needs to stay in the water!
It looks like a mutation gone wrong in an anaconda. This is why the ocean is one of the scariest places.

This poor frog entered the world with its eyes in its mouth. To see, it has to keep that mouth open all the time.
That sounds like it would get tiresome after a few minutes, but its life depends on being alert and knowing where things are around it.
Another Wild Fungus
First, we had fungi hatching out of alien eggs. Now, we have some that look like decaying fingers on a zombie.
Nature has some nice tricks up its sleeve, but this one isn't that neat. This is more terrifying than anything else.
This Snake Didn't Stand A Chance
Those ticks found a home on the back of this snake and even under the mouth. How do you think that feels for the reptile?
I can only imagine it's the furthest thing from pleasant. Hopefully, that snake found a way to get them off.
Run Away As Fast As You Can
You never know, even running away might not help you from this spider. It's liable to start swinging from webs like Spider-Man.
That's one of the largest spiders ever, and those babies on the back look like they hatch bigger than most you find in the house.
This Lava Flow
You've heard about lava, but have you ever been up close and personal to it? It's pretty powerful stuff that can pretty much go through anything.
The greenery here stands no chance against those flames and that heat. One touch and the whole bush might dissolve.
The Congo River Is Not Safe
Now that I know this fish resides in the Congo River, I now know that river isn't safe anymore. People shouldn't play around there with this thing loose.
Those teeth are longer and larger than any dog or shark. That means if it bites you, a tooth is going right through your arm.

A bird will use anything to help make a nest. Using the mouth of a dead animal is poetic justice.
A pike fish is a freshwater fish that can remain still for an incredible amount of time. That's how they catch their prey, but this one didn't survive.
Deep-Sea Squid Photographed At 7800 Feet Depth
The deeper you get into the ocean, the more likely you are to find Godzilla. There's no reason a squid should be this long.
Its head also looks like an alien, so there's that. Overall, this squid isn't something you want to run into.
Maybe Run Another Day
Finding things in your shoe is typical if you have a dog or kids. Seeing that there's a snake in it isn't fun at all.
Imagine this person would've just slid their foot right in there. That would've been a crazy surprise before a run.
"Sweet Potato Creepily Resembles Human Heart"
It's a sweet potato, but it also looks like a heart. How did it manage to form into this shape that includes veins?
If I were them, I wouldn't even eat this. They should put back in nature and see what it grows into.
Just How Many Bees?
What you see is an image of honey seeping through the electric outlet on the wall. That means there are bees inside the walls producing honey. Having bees inside your wall is not a treat or a joy. They can easily find a way in a sting you. That's not fun.
Maybe the idea of free honey excites you, but we promise is you ever find a hive of bees in your wall, you should contact someone to have it removed safely.
To The Underworld
This is a lava pit that looks like it leads straight down to the devil. The tar even looks like lost souls being sucked into the fiery abyss. If that lady isn't careful then she could end up in a pretty hot situation.
The danger in this picture is part of what makes it beautiful. The darkness of the hardened magma compare to the fiery red inside burning bright makes it hard to look away, even if you would never be brave enough to stand on the mountain top.
Landslide Of Doom
This was one crazy landslide. the detour for this must have been extremely annoying and how long did it take for this to fix this? Hopefully, there was no one who got trapped in the dirt and debris while it was happening. I feel sorry for the construction workers handling this.
As terrifying as damage like this can be, events like that are thankfully rare. Hopefully, you've never had to see one up close and never will.
Don't Reach In There
What you are looking at is a mother centipede. This mother is protecting her babies. I have never seen an insect that looks this creepy and dangerous. Imagine putting your hand in there by accident and touching that alien-like bug. That would be one interesting feeling.
Mother Nature truly created some terrifying animals. How many spiky legs does one insect need? Not as many as are seen here. No one needs that many babies either.
The Burning Tree
Apparently, lightning struck this tree, however, this wasn't the direct aftermath. This tree was burning like this a day later as well. Is it going to explode? I don't know what's going to happen but coming across this would put some interesting thoughts in people's minds.
It's actually amazing that this burning tree hasn't caused a larger fire. As scary as this is to look at, the situation seems, oddly enough, safely contained.
Big Crab Baby
If you saw this thing just crawling around, chances are you would question if the environment you are in is good for your well-being. A crab with a baby's head on it is quite alarming mainly because it's something you don't really see every day or at all.
Don't be too scared. This is probably a hermit crab, and like cats, the rule for hermit crabs is, "if I fits, I sits."
Resurrected Frog
The frog that rose again. This frog was found outside of a shop flattened with no life. The owner thought it would be a good idea to pour some water on it and sure enough, this little guy came back to form and was ready for action.
The science is that apparently frogs are like sponges. When dried out, they can be brought back to life with just a little bit of love and water.
These Mammatus Clouds Following a Tornado Look Photoshopped
Mammatus clouds, also known as mammary clouds, get their name for their resemblance to udders. These strange clouds are formed when cold air is pushed down and forms pockets within the warm air. A man named Wiliam Clement Ley was the first person to record this phenomenon in the late 1890s.
You are most likely to see them following a thunderstorm or tornado. This photo was taken in Nevada after the latter.
Boney M Would Like This Puffer Fish Skeleton
Fish are filled with hundreds and thousands of tiny little bones. Anyone who has had to debone a fish would know they get in the way. This skeleton of a puffer fish shows just how crazy the bone structures of fish can get.
These bones expand and contract with the fish to make its outer shell dangerous at all times. This is one fish we wouldn't like to debone.
Leopard Seals Are Actually Terrifying
We know what you're thinking: seals are nice, they do tricks in aquariums, what could be so scary about them? Well, leopard seals are a different story. It's the second-largest seal in Antarctica and it's only predator in the wild is the killer wale.
If you're still not convinced it's terrifying, just watch the scene in Happy Feet when a leopard seal chases Mumble. The seals feed on penguins in real life too.
This Chameleon Isn't Alive
Chameleons are already kind of creepy. They move really slow, they can change colors so you never really know what is going on with them, and they have those crazy eyes that can look two directions at once.
They're so creepy that you might not even realize that this chameleon is dead. It was mummified in place thanks to the burning sun of the tropics.
Geese Aren't As Innocent As You'd Think
Everything nice you ever thought about geese is history. This photo changes everything about the animal. We had accepted the fact that geese have teeth on their beak. It makes sense so they can eat fish.
But then we saw this photo and realize they also have teeth on their tongue. With this revelation, normal geese just moved up a few notches on the scary scale alongside their Canadian Goose partners.
Holding On For Dear Life
Many birds have feet or claws that automatically grip onto items like branch with minimal to no effort needed on the part of the bird. It's so that they can sit on branches while sleeping or do other things without having to worry about it.
This bird seems to have left its feet clamped onto the branch while it went off somewhere else. We'd like to think that it's just flying around happily forever and never landing, but that doesn't seem like the likely option.
You Don't Want To Be Near This Tree When The Flowers Are Gone
The Sandbox tree grows on average to a height of 100 feet or more, but the most distinct thing about it is the cone-shaped spikes that cover the trunk. The tree grows female and male flowers, and the female ones are the ones you need to worry about.
Once they dry, the seeds of the female flowers eventually explode with a loud bang. The flattened seeds can travel at speeds of up to 150 miles when they explode out of the tree, and travel more than 60 feet.
The Tentacles Keep Growing
Even if the thought of it creeps you out a little bit, we've all gotten used to the idea that creatures with eight tentacles, also known as octopuses, are floating around in the ocean.
Eight tentacles simply wasn't enough for this octopus though. A rare mutation has caused its tentacles to keep growing and branch off into even smaller ones. Two thirds of an octopus' brain cells are distributed in its tentacles, so it must be really smart.
A Frog-Spider Hybrid?
The person who took this photo isn't entirely certain what happened, but they're definitely sure that both the spider and the frog are deceased at this point.
The best guess is that the spider may have been fighting back during the process and somehow managed to kill the frog from the inside as it was getting eaten. Or maybe it's a new kind of hybrid animal that we all need to start being worried about coming across.
Is That The One Van Gogh Is Missing?
Anyone walking along through the forest trying to enjoy their hike would be pretty put off by what appears to be an ear growing out of this log. Don't worry though—it's not a human ear.
What you're looking at is wood ear jelly fungus. The name is fairly self-explanation for what it is. What you wouldn't know from the name of it though is that it actually happened to be edible.
They've Got Some Unwanted House Guests
How do this many spiders show up in your home without you noticing? That's a whole army of spiders, plus their giant leader.
The only option if you saw this in the corner of your bathroom would be to close the door, pack up all of your stuff, and then immediately find a new place to live. Your home now belongs to that giant spider, and its family.
They're Supposedly Cabbages
This photo allegedly shows a field of cabbages that are growing in Japan, but we're not so sure. That looks a lot more like somewhere you'd find the government growing aliens.
Is that what all cabbage fields look like, or is this one just a particularly spooky looking place? This seems like it would be a great place to film a remake of Alien if Sigourney Weaver is interested.
Swim Far Away From This One
This is not just your average squid, and it's not one that you'd want to eat if you went for all-you-can-eat sushi. In fact, if you tried to bite this humboldt squid, it might bite back.
They typically live in deep water so the chances of you encountering the squid that has teeth in it's tentacles is unlikely—but it's not impossible.
That Looks Like It Hurts
It may look like a tie-dye attempt gone wrong, but it's far worse than that. This is someone's foot after they were bit by a baby diamondback snake. That's right. A baby did this. What is its mother like?
This particular snake is usually found in the southwestern United States such as in Arizona, Texas, or New Mexico. A bite from them is likely to cause some serious symptoms, but they can also be fatal.
Mother Nature Is Stronger Than Any Of Us
Mother Nature must have let quite the storm loose on this road if it was powerful enough to lift up the asphalt and shift it off of the road. Let's hope no one was driving along the road during the storm.
Whichever construction crew was in charge of re-paving this road is not going to be happy when they find out they have to do it all over again!
