The Twilight Saga: Where Are They Now?
The first Twilight movie came out in 2008. Can you believe that so many years have gone by since so many of us lined up outside of movie theatres to see Bella and Edward come to life? The series ended in 2012 with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2.
So much has changed since Twilight hit the big screen. Kristen Stewart has turned into a completely different person, Anna Kendrick is a big girl actress now, and Rami Malek won a freaking Oscar. That's right, Rami Malek was in Twilight.
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart was in a few movies before she starred as Bella Swan in Twilight, but this role took her from stardom to superstardom. Kristen got a lot of criticism for her apparently apathetic attitude at press events, but things got even more scandalous after the Twilight series ended.
While dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson, she had an affair with the married director of her film Snow White and the Huntsman. Since then she's become something of a queer icon. It's been a wild ride.
Taylor Lautner
Taylor Lautner didn't have many acting credits to his name before he played Jacob Black in the Twilight series. We knew him only as Shark Boy from Shark Boy and Lava Girl. After Twilight, Lautner got a few small parts in movies like Valentine's Day and Grown Ups 2. He dated Taylor Swift (and a few other high profile celebs including Lily Collins).
In recent years, he's landed some main roles on televisions shows like Scream Queens and Cuckoo.
Robert Pattinson
Before Twilight, we knew Robert Pattinson as Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. His role as Edward Cullen in Twilight pushed his career to another level. After Twilight, Pattinson starred in films like Remember Me, Water for Elephants, Maps to the Stars, and Life.
We know that Robert Pattinson dated Kristen Stewart from 2009 until 2012 when Kristen had an affair with Rupert Sanders. Since then, Robert has been pretty quiet about his personal life.
Mackenzie Foy
Mackenzie Foy played Bella and Edward's fast-growing halfling baby, Renesme. I know, that's a stupid name, but that's what her name is. When The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2 came out, Mackenzie was just 12 years old.
Since then, Mackenzie has been in films like Interstellar and The Conjuring. It's clear that this child actress turned teen actress has a ton of talent. We can't wait to see what she does next.
Angela Sarafyan
Angela Sarafyan played Egyptian vampire Tia in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 2. Since appearing in Twilight, Angela has appeared in a whole bunch of television shows, most notable Westworld in which she plays a "host" or robot named Clementine.
Angela also played a character named Alice on American Horror Story. She's definitely come a long way since her Twilight days. It's amazing how many fantastic actors were in that movie. Keep reading to find out who played Tia's beau in the movie.
Rachelle Lefevre
Rachelle Lefevre played vampire Victoria Sutherland in the first two films of The Twilight Saga. She had to leave the franchise after the second film because of scheduling conflicts and she was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard.
Fans were so upset when she left the series that they wrote letters to producers urging them to bring her back. Lefevre was overwhelmed by the feedback she received and decided not to attend the Los Angeles premiere of New Moon because the event "was just 2 emotional 4 me & I couldn't manage it."
hristian Serratos
Did you know that Christian Serratos, AKA Rosita from The Walking Dead was in Twilight? I totally forgot that she was in this movie. Since appearing in The Twilight Saga, Christian has been in American Horror Story: Murder House and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
She was also in the movie Pop Star. In more recent times, Christian had a baby with her longtime boyfriend, New Politics singer David Boyd. Their daughter was born in May 2017.
Ashley Greene
Ashley Greene is an actress and a model best known for playing Alice Cullen in the Twilight series. Since appearing in Twilight, Ashley has appeared in a few small movies. She also voiced Batgirl for the video games Batman: Arkham Knight and Batgirl: A Matter of Family.
Greene got engaged to Australian television announcer Paul Khoury in December 2016. The two were married on July 6, 2018, in San Jose, California.
Elizabeth Reaser
Just before appearing in Twilight, Elizabeth Reaser played Alex Karev's love interest on Grey's Anatomy. After the Twilight series ended, Reaser appeared in The Good Wife, True Detective, Mad Men, Easy, and The Handmaid's Tale.
Elizabeth Reaser is an actress who's somehow in every show you watch, and yet somehow you still don't know her name. I think it's about time that we all learn her name. She's a pretty solid actress.
Anna Kendrick
Look how cute little Anna Kendrick was in Twilight. This musical theatre nerd would go on to do some pretty big things. Anna played Jessica Stanley in The Twilight Saga. Since appearing in Twilight, Anna Kendrick has been in Up In The Air, 50/50, Into the Woods, and Pitch Perfect.
Kendrick has been dating cinematographer Ben Richardson since 2014. She's currently living her best life ever in Los Angeles, California.
Peter Facinelli
Peter Facinelli played the patriarch of the Cullen family, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, in The Twilight Saga. After Twilight, he played Dr. Fitch "Coop" Cooper in Nurse Jackie, Rupert Campion in Glee, Maxwell Lord in Supergirl, and Michael Plankin S.W.A.T.
In 2015 Facinelli co-wrote the novel After the Red Rain with Barry Lyga and Robert DeFranco. The story is set on a future Earth whose population is coping with dwindling resources.
Billy Burke
Billy Burke is an American actor best known for playing Bella's father, Charlie Swan, in The Twilight Saga. Since Twilight, Billy acted in the movies Lights Out and Breaking In (among others), and he appeared in television shows like The Closer, Chicago P.D., Zoo, and Rizzoli & Isles.
Billy has also been growing out his hair since playing Charlie in Twilight. I'm not sure how I feel about the man bun.
Jackson Rathbone
Jackson Rathbone is an actor and a musician best known for playing Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga. After Twilight, Jackson appeared in television shows like White Collar, Finding Carter, and The Last Ship.
Jackson now has two children with his partner, Sheila Hafsadi. His Twilight co-star Nikki Reed is his children's godmother. Jackson looks quite different than he did when he played Jasper. I almost didn't recognize him in this photo from 2018.
Edi Gathegi
Edi Gathegi played Laurent in Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon. After appearing in the Twilight franchise, he appeared on TV shows like The Blacklist, Into the Badlands, and StartUp.
Edi has been quietly making a living on television for years now, but he's still most recognizable as Laurent from Twilight. When he first got the role, Edi didn't even know that Laurent was a vampire. Since getting the part he read the whole Twilight series and now considers himself a fan.
Rami Malek
That's right, Oscar winner Rami Malek was in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. He played an "Egyptian coven" vampire named Benjamin. But Rami's real breakthrough came in 2015 when he was cast as Eliot in Sam Esmail's Mr. Robot.
In 2018, Malek played Freddie Mercury in a little movie called Bohemian Rhapsody. He won a Golden Globe and an Oscar for his work on the film. Rami is now dating his Bohemian Rhapsody co-star Lucy Boynton.
Justin Chon
Justin Chon is an actor, a director, and a YouTube personality. He's best known for portraying Eric Yorkie in The Twilight Saga film series. He also directed the critically acclaimed film Gook in 2017. On top of all that, he's also a member of the K-pop parody group Boys Generally Asian.
Justin has appeared in shows like New Girl, Dr. Ken, and Deception. He is now married and has a child.
Xavier Samuel
Xavier Samuel played Riley Biers in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Since appearing in Twilight, he's been in a whole bunch of movies including Adore, Plush, Fury, Frankenstein, Mr. Church, and Bad Blood.
So far, Xavier's role in Twilight has been his biggest and most notable acting job, but hopefully, there are some more big parts in his future. I guess not everybody can be as successful as Rami Malek.
Michael Sheen
Michael Sheen played a pretty ferocious villain in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. He's a pretty accomplished actor with some big roles to his name. He recently starred as Dr. Bill Masters in the Showtime series Masters of Sex. He earned a Golden Globe nomination in 2013 for that performance.
Michael Sheen also dated Sarah Silverman for a while, so that's something. He also has a daughter with Kate Beckinsale.
Cam Gigandet
In 2008, Cam Gigandet played James Witherdale in Twilight. He won a whole bunch of teen choice awards for his performance. Since then, Cam played Micah in Easy A, Jack Miller in Burlesque, Roy Raider in the show Reckless, and Jake Green in the show Ice.
Cam has three children, two daughters and a son, with his fiancée Dominique Geisendorff. He also has a black belt in Krav Maga -- that's pretty huge.
Gil Birmingham
Gil Birmingham is best known for his portrayal of Jacob's father, Billy Black, in The Twilight Saga. Since appearing in the Twilight films, he landed the recurring role of Virgil White in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
He also played Chief Sherman in Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017 and Daniel Lanagin in House of Cards in 2014. Gil has been steadily working in Hollywood since the late '80s.
Bryce Dallas Howard
After Rachelle Lefevre was forced to leave the Twilight franchise due to scheduling conflicts, Bryce Dallas Howard took over the role of Victoria. Bryce was already a pretty big deal before she appeared in Twilight (especially because her father is director Ron Howard), but since Twilight she landed the role of Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World franchise.
Clearly, Bryce has a long and bright career ahead of her. I think it's just a matter of time before she wins some major acting awards.
Nikki Reed
Nikki Reed is an actress, screenwriter, singer-songwriter, and model known for her portrayal of vampire Rosalie Hale in The Twilight Saga. After appearing in Twilight, Nikki Betsey Ross in the show Sleepy Hollow. She also appeared in a few movies such as Pawn and About Scout.
Reed started dating actor Ian Somerhalder in 2104. They got engaged in 2015 and married that same year. They now have a daughter named Bodhi Soleil.
Jamie Campbell Bower
Jamie Campbell Bower has been quite busy since he played Caius in The Twilight Saga. Most notably, Jamie played a young Gelert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Jamie dated Harry Potter actress Bonnie Wright (she played Ginny in the Harry Potter movies) for a while and they even got engaged, but they amicably called off their engagement in 2012.
Charlie Bewley
Charlie Bewley has played a vampire more than once in his career. He played Demetri in The Twilight Saga, but after that, he also landed the role of Galen Vaughn in The Vampire Diaries.
I guess this guy is really good at playing bloodthirsty mythical creatures. In between filming the Twilight movies, Bewley played Simon in the indie film Like Crazy starring Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin.
Dakota Fanning
Twilight is hardly Dakota Fanning's most notable movie role. This young actress has been in the business since she was a literal child. She played Sean Penn's daughter in I Am Sam and then her career totally took off.
Since appearing in Twilight she's been in a bunch of movies including American Pastoral and Oceans 8. Both Dakota and her sister, Elle, have a long future in Hollywood. It's been so cool to watch them grow up on screen.
Julia Jones
Julia Jones played Leah Clearwater in The Twilight Saga. Since then, she landed the role of Kohana in the HBO series Westworld. Even though Julia Jones was only in a few episodes of Westworld, her story arc is one of the most compelling story arcs in the show.
Kohana is the wife of Zahn McClarnon's character, Akecheta. The episode focused solely on Kohana and Akecheta is (in my humble opinion) the best episode in the whole series.
Daniel Cudmore
Daniel Cudmore played the Volturi Felix in The Twilight Saga film series. Since Twilight, he played a minotaur in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. He also played Peter Rasputin, AKA Colossus in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Cudmore was a stunt performer before he transitioned into acting, so it makes sense that he's attracted to roles in action movies. He's also recently been on the shows Arrow and The Flash.
Alex Meraz
Alex Meraz is an actor, dancer, and martial artist best known for playing the shape-shifter named Paul Lahote in the film The Twilight Saga: New Moon. He also appeared in the alter Twilight movies. Alex's wife, Kim is a fan of the Twilight series and she told him to audition for the part.
After Twilight, Alex played Gomez of Seal Team A in Suicide Squad. He also played Serafin in the 2017 Will Smith film Bright.
Jodelle Ferland
Jodelle Ferland played Bree Tanner in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn—Part 1. After appearing in the Twilight movies, Jodelle appeared in an episode of Motive (and episodes of other television shows).
She had a main role on the show Dark Matter that aired on the SyFy channel from 2015-2017. Hopefully, Jodelle can find some bigger roles in the future. I'd like to see her do something more mainstream.
Kellan Lutz
Kellan Lutz played Emmett Cullen in The Twilight Saga film series. Since appearing in the series, Kellan played John Smilee in The Expendables 3. He also played Hercules in The Legend of Herculese in 2014.
In October 2017, Lutz announced that he was engaged to TV host Brittany Gonzales. They announced that they had gotten married a month later. Kellan is also good friends with his former Twilight co-star Ashley Greene.
