The Cast of Coyote Ugly, 20 Years Later!
Coyote Ugly featured tons of stars in the earliest part of their careers. Many actors in the film have gone on to land successful roles in TV and movies, becoming household names.
It's been over 20 years since the film's debut. Let's take a look at where these stars are now!
Piper Perabo as Violet Sanford
Piper Perabo played the aspiring songwriter Violet Sanford, who moves from New Jersey to the big apple, but ends up working in the rowdy bar and film namesake, Coyote Ugly.
Perabo has since gone on to land starring roles in other films and TV shows, including the film series Cheaper by the Dozen, Looper (2012), and most recently, a recurring role in the TV series Yellowstone.
Adam Garcia as Kevin O'Donnell
Australian actor Adam Garcia won the role of Kevin via his stage acting career as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever, where he impressed casting director Arlene Phillips to give him the role in Coyote Ugly. He plays the love interest of Violet Sanford.
Today, Garcia has enjoyed a robust career, with roles in major TV shows and movies such as Doctor Who, Riding in Cars with Boys, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and Kangaroo Jack.
John Goodman as Bill Sanford
John Goodman plays the concerned yet caring Bill Sanford, Violet's dad who just wants the best for her, despite his misgivings about her line of work.
Perhaps one of the most recognizable faces in the movie, Goodman is known for his role as patriarch Dan Conner in Roseanne. Since then he has appeared in big movies such as 10 Cloverfield Lane, Argo, and Atomic Blonde just to name a few.
Maria Bello as Lil Lovell
Lil Lovell is the bold and rugged owner of the Coyote Ugly bar, played by the talented Maria Bello. Lil is based on the real-life owner of the Coyote Ugly saloon in New York City.
Since playing Lil, Bello has appeared in various roles to showcase her acting skills, including receiving a Golden Globe nomination for A History of Violence. She has since had a recurring role on the hit show NCIS.
Tyra Banks as Zoe
Zoe is one of the trio of servers at Coyote Ugly, and she's quitting her job to pursue law school. In the movie, she is played by supermodel Tyra Banks.
Banks was already a household name by the time she took on the role, thanks to her modeling career and appearances in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and her own reality show America's Next Top Model. Her most recent venture has been as the host of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
Bridget Moynahan as Rachel
Another member of the Coyote Ugly trio, Rachel, is on probation, but this doesn't stop her from defending herself from the bar's more lecherous guests. Bridget Moynahan plays her in her feature-film debut.
After Coyote Ugly, Moynahan appeared in films Serendipity, I, Robot, and the John Wick series. She has had a recurring role in the series Blue Bloods since 2010.
Izabella Miko as Cammie
Polish actress Izabella Miko plays the fun and risqué Cammie, the final member of the original trio of Coyote Ugly servers. As a trained dancer, Miko showcased her skills throughout Coyote Ugly, which was also her feature-film debut.
Miko launched a successful acting career with a recurring role in television shows such as Deadwood, The Cape, and Chicago Fire.
LeAnn Rimes as Herself
Violet Sanderson's dream comes true when she has pop star LeAnn Rimes perform one of her songs, the timeless "Can't Fight the Moonlight." Rimes was just 17 when she appeared in the movie.
Rimes has had a successful career since Coyote Ugly, selling over 20 million records worldwide, including an Academy of Country Music Award and a Grammy Award.
Melanie Lynskey as Gloria
New Zealander Melanie Lynskey plays Gloria, Violet's best friend. After Violet gets fired from the bar, she returns to New Jersey for Gloria's wedding.
Lynskey has made a name for herself in the American entertainment industry, most notably in her recurring role as Rose in the series Two and a Half Men. Her recent roles include Shauna in Yellowjackets and Betty Gore in Candy.
Johnny Knoxville - College Guy
During the 2000s, Johnny Knoxville was already well-known for his part in the MTV series Jackass. In Coyote Ugly, Knoxville was offered a guest role as a background college guy during a party.
Knoxville has appeared in films such as The Dukes of Hazzard, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Ringer.
Michael Weston - Danny
Coyote Ugly marked Michael Weston's feature-film debut, where he played Danny. He is credited as Michael Weston, as his birth name, Michael Rubenstein, was already registered in the Screen Actors Guild.
Weston has appeared in various TV shows, playing a kidnapper in Six Feet Under, a detective in House, and a recurring role in Scrubs.
Alex Borstein as Bidding Auction Woman (uncredited)
Comedian Alex Borstein had an uncredited role in Coyote Ugly, playing one of the women who bid on Violet's father at the end of the movie.
Borstein has had an illustrious career in comedy, first as a cast member of MADtv and then as the voice of Lois Griffin on Family Guy, which earned her a Primetime Emmy award. For her role in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, she won two Primetime Emmys and a SAG award.
Melody Perkins as New Coyote (uncredited)
Melody Perkins plays an uncredited role as a new coyote in the movie, struggling to find her place in the iconic bar.
But Perkins is credited most famously for her role in the Power Ranger series as the pink ranger and villain Astronema. She has also appeared in Planet of the Apes and CSI: Miami.
Del Pentecost as Lou
Del Pentecost had a small role as Lou in Coyote Ugly. Primarily an off-broadway actor, Pentecost has appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent and had a recurring role in the series Kingdom Hospital.
His last known acting role was in 2010 in the TV series Gravity, playing Matt.
Chris Wylde as College Guy
Along with Johnny Knoxville, Chris Wylde played another college guy at the party that occurs in Coyote Ugly. The role was one of Wylde's first feature-film credits after his time on Comedy Central's series Strip Mall. He then appeared in Space Cowboys, The Revenant, and The DUFF.
His latest acting credits most notably include a recurring role as Glenn in the series Young Sheldon, as well as a role in the animated series Amphibia.
Susan Yeagley as Bidding Auction Woman
Playing the role of another woman bidding on Kevin, Susan Yeagley has gone on to land roles in the popular show Parks and Recreation as a recurring character and guest roles on Reno 911!, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Sarah Silverman Program.
She married Saturday Night Live cast member Kevin Nealon in Italy in 2005. They have one child together.
Ken Hudson Campbell as the Biker
Ken Hudson Campbell's acting background comes from improvisation, where he worked alongside Steve Carrell and Bob Odenkirk in the famous The Second City improv-comedy theater. Before his role in Coyote Ugly as a biker, he appeared in Home Alone and Armageddon.
He has appeared in TV shows such as Seinfeld, two appearances in Curb Your Enthusiasm, and his most recent recurring role is in the animation series Adventures in Wonder Park.
Kaitlin Olson as Bidding Auction Woman
Coyote Ugly was Kaitlin Olson's third feature-film role, where she played another lucky bidding auction woman. The beginnings of her career found her working with the likes of Will Ferrell and Phil Hartman in Los Angeles' The Groundlings Sunday Company.
Her portrayal of Deandra Reynolds in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is her most recognizable role. She also played Becky in Curb Your Enthusiasm and appeared in the movies Finding Dory and Leap Year.
Jeremy Rowley as William Morris Receptionist
Jeremy Rowley is another member of The Groundlings' improv-comedy group who appeared in Coyote Ugly. He played "William Morris Receptionist."
His role as Lewbert in iCarly is perhaps Rowley's most recognizable role, playing a mean doorman with a bad attitude. He also has recurring roles in the series Bless the Harts and Nobodies.
Michael Bay as Photographer
Although Michael Bay is most well-known now for his directorial projects, he had a small role in Coyote Ugly as a photographer. His character was responsible for taking a photo that appears in the paper Violet's father reads, resulting in his confrontation about her work at the bar.
Bay has directed several commercially successful films, including but not limited to Armageddon, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Armageddon, the Transformers movie series, and much more.
