But now it is time to learn which shows got the boot and were canceled and which are earning their spot on the streaming platform with another season.
Narcos: Mexico: Canceled
Sitting in Netflix's Top Ten for weeks on end, it might come as a surprise to learn that Narcos: Mexico is not being renewed for a fourth season. The spin-off series was well-received, praising the performances of Diego Luna and Michael Peña.
Alas, even watching the intense drama of the Columbian drug trade must come to an end eventually.
Black Mirror: Canceled
Created by Charlie Brooker, the anthology series Black Mirror had a good run on Netflix, airing a solid five seasons. With the modern-day Twilight Zone concept of strange societal situations, namely based around technology that could potentially happen in real life, people were intrigued.
Sadly, due to legal disputes, it looks highly unlikely that the series will be renewed for a sixth season.
Cowboy Bebop: Canceled
When it was announced Netflix was going to do a live-action remake of the beloved anime series Cowboy Bebop, fans of the original were thrilled. Sadly, it did not live up to expectations and was criticized for its sloppy writing, action sequences, editing, and special effects.
The only thing that was actually praised was the cast. Too bad that isn't enough to keep a series afloat. Cowboy Bebop was canceled just three weeks after its premiere.
The Umbrella Academy: Renewed
When The Umbrella Academy premiered on Netflix in 2019, viewers had no clue what they were in for. Time travel, the apocalypse, and a highly dysfunctional family of superpowered non-biological siblings probably wasn't it, though!
The series was met with stellar reviews and, upon its first season, was the most-streamed show of the year! Coming into its third season, it has been reported that The Umbrella Academy is already greenlit for a fourth!
You: Renewed
Joe isn't going anywhere fast. His murderous antics are being renewed for a fourth season at Netflix. Amazingly, the show was a major fail when it originally aired on Lifetime. The streaming service gave it a new viewership, though, and the series became a popular series.
Now the question is, what is Joe going to do for love this time?
White Lines: Canceled
Sadly, the thrilling tales constructed in White Lines have come to their end. After finding out who killed Axel, the series kind of wrapped up. At least, that is one of the hypotheses as to why Netflix decided to ax the show.
On the other side of the mystery, while White Lines was number one on the streaming platform for weeks, it soon dropped in popularity.
Bridgerton: Renewed
Netflix subscribers can't get enough of the Bridgerton family. After an epic first season that led to a viewership of 82 million households. After the reception, it was almost certain that Netflix was going to renew the dramatic love lives showcased on the series.
What fans might be happy to hear is as of April 2021, the series has been renewed for both a third and fourth season.
The Witcher: Renewed
After an iffy first season, fans of the video game weren't sure what the future of the Netflix series The Witcher held. Thankfully, they turned the show around, and the second season was widely praised.
So, fantasy fans will be happy to learn that the second season isn't the last time they'll see Henry Cavill's Geralt of Rivia. In 2021, the series was renewed for a third season.
Emily In Paris: Renewed
Starring Lily Collins as the title character, Emily in Paris, aired on Netflix in 2020. From there, viewers were hooked as they watched Emily move from her boring Midwestern life in America to live overseas in Paris, France.
As it turns out, Emily's adventures abroad aren't over quite yet. The series was renewed for a third and fourth season.
Squid Game: Renewed
In 2021, the Korean series Squid Game took Netflix by force. In 94 countries, the series attracted the viewership of 142 million households. People couldn't get enough of the deadly games.
With an epic cliffhanger at the end of the first season, Netflix subscribers will be happy to hear the thrilling survival drama isn't over yet. Squid Game has been renewed for a second season.
Jane The Virgin: Canceled
After five seasons of laughter, love, and a bit of drama, Jane The Virgin has come to an end. This decision wasn't based on viewership or popularity but Executive Producer Jennie Snyder Urman's vision.
Urman also had a plan for Jane, and by the 100th episode, she was able to tie up every loose end and give Jane and her friends a happy sendoff.
Big Mouth: Renewed
The quirky and crude universe of Big Mouth is returning to Netflix with another season. According to Movieweb, fans of the series can expect to see their fan-favorite characters back and louder than ever in October of 2022.
Not only can people look forward to another season of the hormone-infused characters, but the streaming platform also ordered a spin-off series, Human Resources.
Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina: Canceled
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was met with positive reviews upon its release in 2018. The reimagining of the beloved character had fans new and old binge-watching the young Spellman.
Sadly, due to the state of the world in 2020, the show couldn't get proper footing. After two seasons, the spooky series was canceled.
The Queen's Gambit: Canceled

Unfortunately, the sixth season of the popular series will be the end of Thomas Shelby and his gang's epic story.
Space Force: Renewed
The workplace comedy Space Force follows a group of people tasked with establishing the new military branch, The United States Space Force. Even with the comedic genius of Steve Carell leading the charge, the show was still only met with mixed reviews.
Even so, it was popular enough that Netflix opted to renew it for a second season.
The Crown: Renewed
The award-winning series The Crown follows the story of Queen Elizabeth II, from her early reign as queen to modern times. It was surprising to the streaming platform has popular the drama series became, as it is a period piece ground in modern history.

Based on the Robyn Carr novels of the same name, viewers haven't been able to get enough of the romantic drama Virgin River. Following the story of a Los Angeles nurse practitioner looking to make a lifestyle change, she finds herself in a remote part of northern California.
And the drama isn't over! The series was renewed for a fourth and fifth season.
Santa Clarita Diet: Canceled
In 2022, the zombified mom Sheila Hammond, played by Drew Barrymore, will stop feeding on flesh while trying to live a normal life with her family. While the first season was met with positive reviews, the series has since dropped off in popularity.
After three seasons, Netflix has decided to cancel the series.
Better Call Saul: Canceled

Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara teamed up for six seasons of belly-laughing comedy in the critically acclaimed series Schitt's Creek. Sadly, the quirky story of the family who lost everything only to gain so much more has finally come to an end.
After winning all seven major categories at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, Schitt's Creek went out with an epic bang.
13 Reasons Why: Canceled
While the first season of 13 Reasons Why was successful, people questioned the narrative and harmful content shown throughout the series. Even so, it was renewed over and over, bringing it to a three-season run on Netflix.
In 2020, it was announced that the series had run its course, and the streaming platform would not be renewing the show.
Locke And Key: Renewed
