There is no shortage of amazing films being released in 2023. From new Marvel and DC content to historical biopics, there is a little something for everyone this upcoming year.
So, who is excited to see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania? Or, perhaps, some people are more interested in seeing Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer? Well, grab some popcorn because those two films are just the beginning!
Shazam! Fury Of The Gods
Zachary Levi and Asher Angel are back as the dual-personality superhero Shazam in the film Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
In this sequel film, Shazam and his step-siblings have to work together in order to defeat their greatest foe yet -- Kalypso and Hespera, aka the daughters of the Greek titan Atlas.
John Wick: Chapter 4
The highly-anticipated John Wick: Chapter 4 is almost here! The stakes are as high as ever as notorious hitman John Wick travels to fight against High Table global, a criminal organization he's pretty much at war with.
While not much else is known about the film, director Chad Stahelski has gone on record saying the ending might not work out this time for the title character.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3
Peter Quill and his crew are back in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Not much is known about the third volume of the Guardians story, aside from the fact that it takes place after Endgame and Thor: Love and Thunder.
What people can expect are comedic hijinks and one groovy soundtrack.
Fast X
The family is back in Fast X.
There is little to nothing known about the plot of the tenth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, aside from the fact that Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the rest of the cast are coming back for some intense speed and adventure.
The Little Mermaid
In 2023, Disney is going to release the live-action version of a classic, The Little Mermaid. Halle Bailey stars as the title character, while Melissa McCarthy takes on the evil sea witch Ursula, Javier Bardem plays King Triton, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, and so many more insane talents.
This is one movie people are not going to want to miss.
Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania
Scott Lang and Hop van Dyne are back in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This time, joined by Scott's daughter, Cassie.
The highly-anticipated third installment of the Ant-Man films is sure to be a wild ride, filled with old and new faces and what seems to be a new villain in this phase of the MCU, Kang the Conqueror.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse
Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy are back in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While not much is known about the plot of the film, one thing is for certain. Miles and Gwen are going to go on the adventure of a lifetime across the multi-verse!
Some new "spider people" are going to be added to the cast, so it is sure to be a great time!
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
The Transformers franchise is heading to the mid-90s in the film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. Set in 1994, a pair of archeologists stumble upon something extraordinary, proof that there are three factions of transformers -- the Terrorcons, the Maximals, and the Predacons.
Now, the three factions find themselves on Earth and between the battle raging on between the Autobots and Decepticons.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
D&D fans are probably going to be very excited when Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves releases in theaters in 2023. Starring Chris Pine, the film will follow a thief and a band of wild adventurers as they come together to find a lost relic.
Of course, nothing goes as planned, and they get into more than one misadventure!
Dune: Part Two
Director Denis Villeneuve's epic science fiction film Dune is back with Dune: Part Two. After watching his family get destroyed, Paul Atreides is on a quest to prevent a future only he can see.
The problem is he will have to choose between the love of his life and the fate of the universe. What is he going to choose?
Indiana Jones 5
Harrison Ford and John Rhys-Davies are back as Indiana and Sallah, respectively, two friends who are bound to go on another adventure in Indiana Jones 5.
Not much is known about the film, aside from the return of the two stars and the fact that Steven Spielberg is not directing and George Lucas is not writing the screenplay for the first time throughout the franchise.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. While not much is known about the seventh installment of the franchise, aside from it being the sequel to Fallout, there will be familiar faces on the silver screen.
Not only is Cruise back, but fans will also see Simon Pegg's Benji and Ving Rhames' Luther.
Oppenheimer
Christopher Nolan takes on a historical biopic with Oppenheimer. Cillian Murphy stars in the title role of J. Robert Oppenheimer, aka the man who created the first atomic weapon.
The movie will explore the Manhattan Project and what actually went down during World War II, and the creation of the first nuclear weapons under Oppenheimer.
The Marvels
The MCU is releasing The Marvels on the silver screen in 2023. This movie follows not only Carol Danvers but also Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, as they all swap powers each time they use their own.
Now, it is a race against the clock to find out what is happening to the three heroes.
Barbie
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling star as Barbie and Ken in the highly-anticipated film Barbie. The film follows the story of the popular children's doll as she is banished from "Barbieland" and finds herself in the real world.
In the human world, Barbie tries to find true happiness. It is going to be a must-see movie of 2023!
Blue Beetle
The DCEU is expanding with the release of Blue Beetle in 2023. The origin story of the superhero, teenager Jaime Reyes is pretty much ordinary until a mysterious scarab beetle binds itself to his spine.
After the binding, Jaime has a powerful exoskeleton made of alien technology! Who knows what could happen in this movie?
Kraven The Hunter
Actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is back in the MCU. This time, he is coming in as the antihero Kraven in Kraven the Hunter.
Off to prove he is the best big game hunter in the world, Sergei Kravinoff's story is going to be one MCU fans are not going to want to miss.
The Exorcist
Director David Gordon Green is going to take on The Exorcist, based on the William Peter Blatty novel of the same name. Said to be the first installment of a trilogy, this first film will bring back Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil, one of the characters from the original film.
This is sure to be a horror movie people are not going to want to miss.
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes
Set 64 years before the Hunger Games novel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes looks into the history of the dystopian world and the games as an 18-year-old Coriolanus "Coryo" Snow as he mentors the tribute from District 12.
For fans of the original Hunger Games series, this is one movie that should be at the top of your to-watch list.
Wonka
Actor Timothée Chalamet steps into the shows of the iconic character Willy Wonka in his origin story, Wonka.
Set years before he becomes a recluse in his chocolate factory, Wonka steps into the world of Willy Wonka when he is a young and eccentric chocolatier, coming into contact with the Oompa-Loompas, and making plans to open his chocolate factory.
The Color Purple
Based on Alice Walker's novel of the same name, the 2023 film The Color Purple will be the second film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning work.
A musical adaptation close to that seen on the Broadway stage is sure to be a spectacle, with stars such as Halle Bailey, Fantasia Barrino, Ciara, H.E.R, Colman Doming, and more leading the charge.
Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom
The sequel to Aquaman, the DCEU film Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, is coming to theaters in 2023.
Starring Jason Mamoa in the title role, the film will revolve around his character as he forms an uneasy alliance in order to save his home, Atlantis, from the rest of the world.
The Nightingale
Sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning are taking on the roles of Vianne Mauriac and Isabelle Rossignol, respectively, in the film adaptation of Kristin Hannah's novel The Nightingale.
The Fanning sisters will play sisters on-screen as they fight to resist the German occupation in France during the trying times of World War II.
Evil Dead Rise
The fifth installment of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Rise, will make its way to theaters in 2023. The film follows Beth and Ellie, played by Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland, two sisters who discover a mysterious book in the basement of the latter one's Los Angels apartment.

Families are not going to want to miss out on the Disney film Haunted Mansion, coming to theaters in 2023. When Gabbie moves into a weirdly affordable mansion with her young son, she soon realizes she got more than she bargained for.
She brings in a quirky team to help exorcise the mansion but can they do it without getting hurt? The film stars Rosario Dawson, Danny DeVito, Jared Leto, Owen Wilson, and more!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie
A star-studded cast is taking on voice acting for The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Based on the iconic Nintendo video game, Mario and his brother Luigi travel through an underground maze to rescue Princess Peach.
