Danny Devito: The Next Wolverine?
Over the past few years, mainly due to his iconic role on the FX show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Danny DeVito has become an Internet sensation. If you go on social media, you'll find countless memes and jokes in circulation dedicated not just to his Always Sunny character Frank Reynolds, but DeVito himself.
Well, his Internet fame doesn't stop at memes and GIFs. Recently, a petition has been started to name Danny DeVito as the star of the upcoming Wolverine film. The Change.org petition states: "The only man able to take the throne after Hugh Jackman. We believe that if Wolverine is to make an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that the only man able to pull it off is Danny DeVito."
Starting with a goal of 15,000 signatures, it appears that won't be a problem in the slightest since a whopping 14,220 people have already signed up in support of the cause. Comments on the petition page consist of people declaring their love for the Golden Globe-winning actor, citing reasons why they believe he's the perfect man for the job. One signer went so far as to claim that "This is the most important cause I've ever supported."
Although the petition is growing every day, only time will tell if we'll get the opportunity to see DeVito with mutton chops and metal claws on the big screen. But then again, who doesn't want to see that?
