Halloween is the perfect time of year for watching your favorite musicians scream their way through a horror movie. Billboard magazine even created a list of some of the best horror movie appearances by your favorite musicians. Here's a list of some of the best musician cameos in horror movies, some that you might not even have realized.

Aaliyah started as a vampire queen named Akasha in the 2002 movie Queen of the Damned. It's based on an Anne Rice novel of the same name and opened at number one at the box office in its opening weekend. It marked her last time on screen and was released just six months after her tragic death.

Alice Cooper is one musician who is no stranger to horror movies and spooky things. He's appeared in Prince of Darkness, Suck, and Dark Shadows among other horror flicks. However, nothing is more iconic than when he played Edward Underwood, the adoptive and abusive father of Freddy Krueger, in the 1991 movie Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.

Another musician to star in a Freddy Krueger flick is Destiny's Child superstar Kelly Rowland. She stared in 2003's Freddy vs. Jason as Kia, who eventually gets killed by Jason in the film.

The 1983 horror film The Hunger starred nonother than the glam rocker David Bowie. He plays a cellist who finds himself in a love triangle with a doctor and a vampire. How much more 1980s can you get?

Twisted Sister lead singer Dee Snider not only stars in the 1998 horror movie Strangeland, but he also wrote it. He plays Captain Howdy/Carlton Hendricks who is a twisted, psychopathic predator who lures people online to take part in his deadly rituals.

LL Cool J did one thing many can't in his horror movie: he survived. He played a security guard named Ronny in the 1998 Halloween follow-up Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and managed to avoid getting killed by masked Michael Myers.

Another hip hop star had a run-in with the iconic Halloween villian a few years later. Busta Rhymes stared in Halloween: Resurrection as Freddie, a reality show director who had an idea to film in the serial killer's childhood home.

In 1985's The Bride, legendary singer Sting stared as Baron Charles Frankenstein. His character attempted to play matchmaker to his monsters in the adaption of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

In the 1998 slasher sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Brandy played Jennifer Love Hewitt's college roommate Karla. She fairs well in the movie by even managing to outlive the killer.

This last movie is one that has to be seen to be believed. The 2000 horror (if you can even call it that) called Leprechaun In The Hood features Ice-T as a record producer who takes on evil leprechauns.
